Little Monsters Information Video
What’s in a Unit of Little Monsters?
Each unit of a Little Monsters book contains a Picture Dictionary (vocabulary for the unit), Talk Time (target language modeling for the unit), It’s Story Time (a story in each unit to complement the unit’s vocabulary and target language), Supplementary Targets (such as colors, numbers, weather, feelings, shapes and more), Fun Phonics (learning three letters and phonics sounds per unit) and an activity section.
Picture Dictionary
Each unit is a child-centered theme with relevant vocabulary & language. This helps create interest in the theme for children and engage with the content. There are 10 new words for children to learn in each unit’s Picture Dictionary. Each unit’s Picture Dictionary also includes a video vocabulary chant, an audio vocabulary chant, and the song for the unit.

Talk Time
Talk Time models the target language for each unit of the book. Talk Time is a great component of the book for modeling the target language for a given unit and students are encouraged to use the accompanying audio for each unit’s Talk Time for ‘at home’ support and review. There is both a video and audio version of the Talk Time component in each unit.

It’s Story Time
It’s Story Time is used to model and review language and vocabulary used for each unit of the book. In many units, much of the language used in the accompanying song for the unit is incorporated into the story to add additional reinforcement and meaning to the story. Story Time is supported with audio and video.

I used The Monkey and The Turtle as a guest teacher today. The children so loved the story. They loved the bugs, the snakes, the butterflies, the color, the counting and everything in-between. They also raced to answer the Q & A on every page....

I used the song "It's a Big Bus" with my 3 1/2 to 4 year olds. It's great! Apart from loving it, the following week when we revised it, they could remember all the sounds of the vehicles and actions we did to go with the song. Thanks!...
